But Christmas wouldn't be the same without twinkly fairy lights glowing up your tree and home. So let's delve into the facts and figures around running LED Christmas lights so you can feel more comfortable using them this winter.
LED lights use around 10% of the energy of non-LED lights - which means if you're still using the the old-school incandescent Christmas lights, it might be change to change over. It's worth noting that LED lights are also safer to use as they don't get hot whilst they're switched on.
How much do LED Christmas lights cost to run?
We have worked out the costs of our entire LED Christmas light range to help you make an informed decision when purchasing our products. Our smaller sets of lights cost less than 17p per month to run (based on the new tariff of 34p/kWh and the lights being on for 5 hours per day) and our largest set of lights (based on the same information) will cost you less than 59p to run over 30 days.
Depending on size, the wattage for our LED Christmas lights is either 3.6W, 6W, 9W or 12W. In comparison, you can expect these numbers to increase tenfold if using incandescent Christmas lights - which will also increase your energy bills for running them tenfold.
